Perpetual retires its superannuation trustee status

In what represents a significant change, Perpetual Superannuation has retired as trustee of its superannuation funds with Equity Trustees taking over the role.
Perpetual has informed members of its superannuation funds that Perpetual Superannuation Limited has decided to retire as trustee of the Fund and has entered into a Deed of Retirement and Appointment.
It said that, as a result, Equity Trustees Superannuation Limited had taken on the trustee role.
The message to members said that subject to finalisation of all necessary legal agreements, Equity Trustees would be appointed as the new trustee of the Fund effective from 1 March, next year.
Financial Newswire understands that the change is unconnected to Perpetual’s proposed transaction with KKR.
