Janus Henderson adds to institutional team

Janus Henderson has made two new appointments to its Australian Institutional Distribution team, with Ashleigh Lane joining as Institutional Sales Director and Sophie Nelson promoted internally to Institutional Sales Associate.
Based in Sydney and reporting to Head of Institutional Distribution for Australia, Tom Kelly, Lane will take part in growing Janus Henderson’s institutional arm in Australia by building new and strengthening existing client relationships and partnership offerings.
Formerly part of the firm’s marketing team for the last four years, Nelson will work with the Institutional Distribution team to enhance its strategy and develop relationships with institutional investors in Australia and New Zealand.
“The institutional market has long been a key strategic priority for Janus Henderson in Australia and one where we continue to see tremendous potential for growth over the long term,” Matt Gaden, Head of Australia, said.
“Ashleigh knows the institutional market extremely well and understands the sophisticated needs of our clients in this space, so I am delighted that she has chosen to join Janus Henderson in this exciting phase of growth for us.
“The appointment of Ashleigh combined with the addition of Sophie to the Institutional team demonstrates our dedication to growing our partnerships with our institutional clients and our ambition to increase market share in this area.”
Lane’s previous roles include Managing Director of the institutional business in Australia and New Zealand at Capital Group, a member of State Street Global Advisors’ Institutional Client Group team and Investment Analyst at Motor Accident Commission of South Australia.
Nelson also held roles at Hyperion Asset Management and InvestSMART prior to joining Janus Henderson.
