MA Moelis Australia has announced the appointment of investment banker Chris Slater as its executive director, who will report to Managing Director Ben Boyd, who leads MA Moelis Australia’s Real Estate advisory team.
Slater has 12 years of experience, including similar roles at UBS, and most recently JP Morgan.
During his career, he has been involved in a number of significant real estate transactions, including Dexus’ acquisition of AMP Capital’s real estate and infrastructure equity business earlier this year.
He’s also participated in capital-raising efforts for several major companies, including GPT, Mirvac, and Cromwell. His M&A experience includes the sale of Westfield to Unibail-Rodamco, Aventus’ internalisation and sale, and leaseback transactions for Telstra and Healthscope.
This appointment follows MA Moelis’ recent hires into its Equities Research business including experienced analyst Paul Hissey, who will lead the firm’s equities expansion into the resources sector, and Tom Tweedie who will join the small and mid-cap industrials research team in Sydney.
