APRA’s Life Insurance boss makes immediate exit

A decision by a senior Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) executive to take up a job with a regulated entity has seen her leave the regulator “with immediate effect”.
APRA announced that the Executive Director Life Insurance, Private Health Insurance and Superannuation, Carmen Beverley-Smith, had resigned to “take up an opportunity in a senior position at a regulated entity”.
It said that, because of this she would be leaving APRA immediately.
The APRA announcement said Life Insurance, Private Health Insurance and Superannuation general manager, Peter Kohlhagen would be acting executive director on an interim basis.
The regulator said it would be seeking to fill the executive director position as soon as possible.
