TAL updates Risk Academy program for 2024
Australian life insurer, TAL, has released its 2024 course program for its Risk Academy platform, offering educational services for financial planners.
The platform will offer five courses this year, including Foundations, Professional Year, Advice, Business Management, and Working with TAL – a new addition to the usual program.
TAL General Manager of Retail Sales and New Business, Beau Riley, said the courses are targeted to suit financial advisers at any stage of their career.
“Our 2024 program offers tailored courses, ensuring that no matter where advisers are in their career, they have access to education and knowledge that can elevate their expertise,” he said.
“Our course streams have evolved this year to reflect the changing role of financial advice, and all courses will continue to be modified to meet evolving adviser needs as the year progresses.
“We are particularly focused on investing in the development of new entrants to the profession, and equipping advisers with skills and insights to help them successfully navigate the evolving landscape of risk management.
“Ultimately, this will help their clients manage risks and ensure they are protected should the unexpected happen.”
Riley said the new stream also provides further educational material around the claims management process and “life insurance implementation”.
“Collaboration plays a key role in fostering strong partnerships and our aim is to make it easier for advisers to do business with TAL. Our Working with TAL stream has been designed in response to what advisers have told us they need,” he said.
“Brand agnostic training is also available for advisers and licensees. We value the input of our advisers, and by actively seeking and implementing their feedback, we want to enhance the support they receive from the TAL Risk Academy.”
Those who enrol in the academy will also have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers including FAAA CEO Sarah Abood, AFCA Ombudsman Alexandra Sidoti, and GPA Financial Services Adviser and Managing Director Jason Poole.
“We prioritise partnering with the speakers who understand the challenges and opportunities in the advice profession. They play an invaluable role in creating a comprehensive program that supports the financial advice community,” Riley said.
“By blending industry insights, business management and technical expertise, we want to support our advisers to deliver better outcomes for their clients and their business.”
