ART appoints new leadership team execs

Australian Retirement Trust (ART) has announced the appointments of three new executives joining its wider leadership team, with all set to commence from 1 July.
Former Chief of Staff at ART, Lachlan East, has taken over as Chief Member Officer, with Julie Bingham stepping into the Chief of Staff role and Anne Fuchs appointed as Executive General Manager of Advice, Guidance and Education.
East brings close to three decades of global experience across investment banking, wealth management and superannuation to his new role, where he will be responsible for managing the super fund’s member operations and experience as well as anticipating future needs of members and adjusting for changing needs.
Bingham has enjoyed over 20 years across several organisations including CitiStreet, MBF, Bupa, Mondial Assistance, the Australian Tax Office, First State Super and QSuper before its merger with Sunsuper to form ART.
Fuchs’ new role also resulted out of ART’s re-commitment to enhancing the financial advice industry and ensuring advice remains accessible to all members. Prior to the merger, Fuchs held the role of Sunsuper’s Head of Advice, Guidance and Education; she previously spent time at the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA), Pinnacle Practice, ING Australia and Bankers Trust.
ART chief executive, Bernard Reilly, also signalled an impending announcement regarding the newly created Chief of Retirement role in the wake of the fund’s executive restructure earlier this year.
“As key members of the Fund’s wider leadership team, these roles are integral to delivering on Australian Retirement Trust’s ambition to empower our 2.2 million members across Australia to retire well with confidence,” he said.
“These appointments are also evidence of the calibre of amazing internal talent we have at Australian Retirement Trust.”
