Cbus bolsters investment team

Cbus Super has announced several new appointments to its investment team in an effort to strengthen its internal investment capabilities.
Myooran Mahalingam has joined Cbus as Senior Portfolio Manager, Global Equities Portfolio Construction; Anna Weickart steps into the newly created role of Senior Manager, Equities Manager Research; Jonathon Meagher as a Senior Analyst in the Infrastructure team; Adrian Dark as an Associate Director in the Property team; and Ashleigh Baxter as Investment Manager, Direct Debt.
Mahalingam, having previously spent over 20 years at MLC managing the global equity and global listed property strategies, will be responsible for the construction of the global equities and emerging market equities portfolios.
Weickart will take on Cbus’ expanding equities manager research program, in addition to continuing management of the fund’s climate change portfolio, and Meagher lead any transactional activities and asset management functions.
Dark will take responsibility for managing the existing property portfolio and sourcing new investment opportunities, and Baxter will focus on managing existing debt transactions and investigating new debt deals as part of Cbus’ Direct Debt $1 billion portfolio.
“The roles support our internalisation and total portfolio approach,” Brett Chatfield, Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Cbus, said.
“Our members continue to benefit from our investments internalisation program which exceeds expectations and continues to reduce our investment costs.”
