Rowell to exit APRA this month

The woman who oversaw the introduction of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority’s (APRA’s) superannuation heatmaps, Helen Rowell, is to leave the regulator.
Rowell, who is currently a deputy chair, will finish up at APRA at the end of June.
Her departure was relayed to a Parliamentary Committee hearing by APRA chair, John Lonsdale, who noted that she had spent 21 years with the regulator holding a number of senior roles before becoming an executive Board member in 2013.
Lonsdale said Rowell had been the first woman appointed as an APRA Executive Director, Member and Deputy Chair.
“She will be greatly missed by all who worked with her here, and we wish Helen all the best wherever the next stage of her career takes her,” he said.
