Channel Capital has appointed former UBS investment specialist Xavier Jeans as Victorian distribution director, deepening the firm’s coverage across the state’s intermediary, private wealth and family office channels.

The $63 billion fund manager services business announced the appointment on Wednesday, less than two months after recruiting Keenan Bunning for a similar role covering New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

Channel Capital co-head of distribution Luke Mandekic said the hire would expand firm’s support for advisers amid evolving portfolio construction needs and rising demand for specialist investment strategies.

“Xavier’s appointment builds on the strong foundational relationships and support we have already established with advisers across Victoria,” Mandekic said.

“As we continue to grow, our focus remains on delivering meaningful support to intermediaries, with access to a wider range of specialist strategies, underpinned by strong oversight, education and clear communication.”

Prior to UBS, Jeans spent two years at Lonsec Investment Research as an investment analyst, conducting fund manager research across asset classes.

He has also worked at Shadforth Financial Group, where he supported financial advisers in delivering tailored wealth management strategies for high-net-worth clients.

Jeans said Channel Capital’s focus on adviser education and investment partnerships drew him to the role.

“Channel Capital has built a strong reputation for the quality of its investment manager partnerships and its genuine commitment to adviser education and support,” he said.

“I’ve long admired the team’s approach and focus on creating value for advisers and their clients. I’m excited to contribute to that culture and to work closely with advisers across Victoria and regional areas.”
